Tribalism in my mind is when you keep on cheering for a group of people or a leader even if they are stupid or do stupid things. No matter how bad they act, you still cheer for them. It's like when people are cheering for their sports team.
Countries are based on tribalism and usually people cheer for their own tribe, their countrys sports team or a leader even if they act wrong or do wrong things.
Me personally are not like that in general, of course there is some tribalism in me too. For example I'm very proud of where I come from and what my heritage is, but this does not mean I cheer automatically for what my country leaders do. I want to know why they do it and whats behind their desicions. Do I agree with them? Usually not for some strange reason. I see stupid things and decisions they make all the time.
But still, I at least try to see the whole thing, all issues and from all perspectives. This is why I have hard time to cheer for any sports team. I don't know them, what difference would it make for the World if they win or lose?
What’s behind the sports teams, why do they exist? Who pays for their training, their high salaries? The whole organisation is just an entertainment business to entertain people and change their focus so they remain happy and think about things that really doesn't matter. The masses are kept busy discussing if Ronaldo or Karim are kicking a ball correctly.
If I see a country leader with decent opinions of how things should be, then I like them. If I see leaders doing bad things, I don't like them. It doesn't matter where they are from, they can be from a totally different country or culture or from my own country. I still like or critizise them.
I cheer for the fair and good things, I cheer for honesty and truth, even if it's bad. I cheer for intelligence and reasonable solutions.
